7-Eleven says hasta la vista to Citgo

President Hugo Chavez has proven once again to be a
liability for the Venezuelan people. In a country
where the largest segment of the economy is fueled by
the sale of oil it is not good international policy to
chase windmills. Chavez, who called U.S. President
George W. Bush "the devil" last week has now forced
the franchise 7-Eleven to drop Venezuelan-controlled
Citgo Petroleum Corporation as their gasoline supplier
of 20 years.

The company said it will be switching to its own
branded gasoline at over 2,100 company-owned and
franchised U.S. stores.

7-Eleven has publicly made the statement that it
"sympathizes with many Americans' concerns over
derogatory comments" made by Chavez last week at the
United Nations.

During a time in America when national identity is
being lost 7-Eleven is standing up and proclaiming
that they are proud to be American.

Let this be a lesson in life. All things are
permissable, but not all things are profitable.

My gut feeling is that America will stand with
7-Eleven and purchase their gas. That's what Americans do.
