WASHINGTON, Oct. 6 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Progress for America (PFA) announced today the launch of a new issue advocacy effort called 'United to Defeat Terrorism' (http://www.UnitedtoDefeatTerrorism.com) which will include national and state-focused activities bringing attention to the War on Terror.

The ad features David Beamer, father of United 93 hero Todd Beamer, and is slated to run through next week. The ad is set to air on national cable broadcast TV and on broadcast TV in Missouri and Ohio.

"It's been five years since America was attacked, and we must not cower to the enemy or retreat in the face of danger," said David Beamer. "We cannot stop the War on Terror until every terrorist is defeated or dead, and the radical ideologies which create them are denounced. We must remain united as a single front in this global struggle to preserve our freedoms and very way of life. Our precious freedoms and a lasting peace can only be achieved in victory."

The program also includes the mailing of tens of thousands of DVD copies of the movie, United 93, accompanied by a personal letter from David Beamer, to residents in Missouri and Ohio. The film, based on the 9-11 hijacking of United Airlines Flight 93, chronicles the heroic measures taken by the passengers and crew of United 93 prior to the airplane's crash in Shanksville, PA.
